A low key end to Wrekinsport’s club season saw the curtain come down with a fast and furious Autumn Sprint 5, with just four riders in competition on a practically windless evening. Held on the Admaston – Rushmoor Lane – Allscott circuit; this course has a sting in the tail with a gradual descent to the halfway point giving way to a steady grind to the finish. Phil Roberts took the win with a fine effort of 11 minutes 21 seconds, overtaking two other riders who acted as ‘carrots’ to catch. Deb Hutson-Lumb took the runner-up spot, with her 12:52 pushing out Elliott Wills by exactly a minute and with Women’s runner-up Mollie Roberts ending the evening on 14:50.
